A substantial number of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro users have expressed frustration over the rapid depletion of their phone batteries.
Social media platforms have served as a vast arena for discussing this issue, with one user sharing a screenshot of their battery life, indicating a maximum capacity of only 89%.
This is despite Apple's claim that its batteries should "retain up to 80% of their original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions," as reported by Russia Today.
Joanna Stern, the Personal Technology Columnist at "The Wall Street Journal," in her newsletter asked, "Did the always-on screen—new to the iPhone Pro models and on during the first half of the year—cause the capacity to degrade faster? Is the phone not cooling or dissipating heat like other models? Maybe it's the fact that I've been running beta software?"
Tips to Preserve Battery Life
- Apple recommends updating to the latest software, adjusting screen brightness, and using WiFi whenever available.
- Set your iPhone to Low Power Mode.
Apple explains that "Low Power Mode reduces display brightness, optimizes device performance, and minimizes system animations." Background content downloads for apps including email won't occur, and features like AirDrop, iCloud sync, and Continuity will be disabled. Core functions like making and receiving calls, emails, messages, internet access, and more will still be functional. When your phone is recharged, Low Power Mode will be automatically turned off.
